Family Canvas

Hello and welcome, Kay M here to share the canvas I made for this month's seasonal theme of bonfires and fireworks.   

November has a few annual family gatherings involving food, bonfires and fireworks and where there's a gathering there's the group photo!   I've used one from the  Lost Family paper stack as the main image.

A 20cm x 25cm canvas was painted with Gee-Sso-Good black, when dry,  a Sleeping Beauty wash was painted over and more black sponged around the edges to frame the canvas.

Unicorn Sparkles was mixed with Super Thick Slap-It-On and used through the Starburst Stencil three times on the canvas and left to dry.   Pink Luscious was then added to the mixture and this was used through the Weird Science Stencil into the centre of the Starbursts.  This same mix was watered down and splattered over the canvas,  when dry,  white paint splatters and lines were added.

The elements were prepared. 
I used fine texture paste through the Laurel stencil and fussy cut them out when dry, they were painted with a Emerald City and Pheasant Bronze mix and then dusted with Gold Luscious.   Wooden sentiments were painted with Gee-Sso-Good black then dry brushed with Vodka Martini and a little Hot Cocoa and backed with white card.   The family were fussy cut and a black pen run over the cut edges. 

To finish, the family group was attached with silicon glue and the laurel leaves adhered horizontally behind and in front of them.  The sentiments placed as shown.

I love how the Unicorn Sparkles work with the Starburst stencil to look like an exploding firework.  I do hope you have enjoyed this canvas.

Lost Family Lady Mixed Media Layout

My first project for this month is a layout made with Acrylics, Kroma Crackle, stamps and vintage a vintage photo. 

As background I used a plain white cardstock that I prepped with GeeSso Good Gesso. When dry I added the acrylics blended with water. A bit of stamping with black waterproof ink and a stamp from the Grand Tour II stamp set.

 Kroma Crackle gives an extra effect to the background. Especially when highlighted with at bit of stamp ink.

A bit of flowers, a piece of cheese cloth, a badge and a couple of vintage buttons as decorations fit perfectly with the feeling of the card. 

Sometimes you don´t have the right photo for what you want to accomplish, then don´t hesitate to take a pre made one. I have used one from the Lost Family Paper Pad.

Beauty ATC

Hello Everyone...and happy Sunday!

Here I am today with another ATC for you! You should know how I love making ATCs, they are awesome and I absolute love working in small sizes, makes everything so interesting!

For my ATC I used, as always, only Indigoblu products (except for the ink and stitch of course! hehe)

For the background I used the brand new paint from Indigoblu, Lemon Meringue and 

Marshmallow are quiete opaque meanwhile Lime Marmalade is slightly more translucent. The colors all blended together so so well!

The sentiment is another brand new items from Indigoblu, it is an awesome set words that are easily adaptable to any kind of work. Here I simply wanted to use the word "beauty".

I added Kroma Crackle to finish off the backgroud. This products HAS NOTHING to do with all the usual Crackle paint I used so far, infact it leaves a subtle white feeling to it. I loved that it toned down the background. You can see the beautiful crackles in the photo below. To highlight the crackles I added a bit of Lime Marmalade.

And the little girl is from the paper pack Lost Family released this year.

Black and White Altered Canvas

Hello, Solange Marques here. I'll share with you more one project using IndigoBlu products. I created a canvas :

I covered the canvas using IndigoBlu GeeSso Good! Gesso Black and glue down a picture from IndigoBlu Lost Family- Mixed Media Paper Pad-A6.

I used the IndigoBlu Floral Fantasy stamp set with  IndigoBlu GeeSso Good! Gesso White :

And finally, I applied Kroma Crackle:

Weird Science...Beautiful Mind

Hello, Kay Molyneux here. I'm so pleased to share this canvas board using the Weird Science Series of stamps. It started out as a part completed project that's been in my craft room for ages. It was going to be a portrait meadow scene, the grasses had been applied using texture paste and paper shapes but I had a brain wave - turn it to landscape and paint it all over with white Gee-Sso-Good gesso mixed with a little black.

To add some colour, English Cottage Artist's Acrylic Paint Burning Bonfire was mixed with the new Slap-It-On Gloss giving a lovely orange glaze and the same was done with Cinderella both were painted as shown and also used to give some paint splatters.

The Periodic Table of Elements and images from A5 Light and Sound Borders and A5 Chemistry Lab sets were stamped with StazOn on to tissue paper, torn out and applied using Slap-It-On Matt.

The butterflies were made by stamping the Calculus with white Gee-Sso-Good gesso onto IndigoBlu Black Stamping Card then over stamping with the butterfly images using FlitterGlu and applying Copper Kettle Mega Flakes.

The test tubes from Chemistry Lab were stamped onto acetate and coloured from behind and mini glass bottles were filled with beads, paint and Mega Flakes and labelled from the Periodic Table of Elements stamp applied with Slap-It-On Matt.

Sentiments from the Chemistry Lab and A5 Beautiful Mind sets were stamped onto kraft card and cut out and some beakers from Chemistry Lab were stamped onto shrink plastic, these were added to the canvas. These were used to frame the little girl studying from the A6 Lost Family Mixed Media Paper Pack.

I do hope this has inspired you to play with the fabulous Weird Science Series stamps!

Pretty In Pink - Foral Fantasy Stamps

Hi there. Elizabeth here with a project made using the very lovely new Floral Fantasy stamps they match the Floral Fantasy Mixed Media Card Stack beautifully and have three sentiments along with butterflies, Lilacs and a fabulous half Doily.

I used the sheet of Lilacs from the Floral Fantasy Mixed Media Stack adding die cuts over the top for texture. Once they were adhered to the card, I gave the whole page a coat of watered down White GeeSsoGood.

I stamped out the half doily using White GeeSsoGood in the position where I knew would be my focal point, on the left hand side, and also added some Glass Bead Gel to give a glint of light.  Then using one part paint to five parts water I added a nice big blob of........................the very gorgeous and soon to be released Mulberry Bush paint to a spritzer bottle, it is just yummy! The texture is gel like, so you can add sheer layers of gorgeous colour over your projects, and there are several gorgeous new colours that will be available soon.

There are two different sizes of Butterflies on the stamp sheet, I stamped out three of each in Black Stazon Ink, coloured them with the watered down paint and cut them out. Then I stamped out the gorgeous Lilac flower, added colour to the leaves with a Caran d'Ache pencil and spritzed the flowers themselves, to give a graded more natural look to them.  I always tend to buy neutral colours of lace and ribbon as I know I can spritz them to match any project, as the paints are all fabric paint as well!

The beautiful young girl is from the Lost Family Collection images that are perfect for mixed media projects, as they are printed on the same quality card stock as the papers. I added a little colour to her cheeks, lips, flowers and hair band, then trimmed around her as I didn't need the full image. Then comes the best bit, building up the page, layering the ribbons, adding the Butterflies and the stamped out Lilacs, followed by adding the young lady with a few extra flowers with a hint of paint added, and of course a sentiment.

Then to finish off how could I resist adding a few splatters of watered down White GeeSsoGood and a few iridescent sequins to catch the light.

Picture Panel Portrait

Hello, Kay here. I found a broken photo frame, the glass long gone and the front beyond repair but the backing panel with the stand was intact so it has been up-cycled as the base for my framed  'Lost Family' member.

The panel was primed with white Gee-Sso-Good!,  fine texture paste was used through the Texture stencil on the right side. When dry the edges were painted with Goldfinger Metallic Paint .  A 12x12 sheet from the fabulous Arts & Crafts 'After Morris' Mixed Media Paper Stack was applied using Slap-It-On and trimmed. 

The whole panel was washed over  with diluted  Goldfinger paint. Course texture paste was then applied through the Roman Numerals stencil, when dry the texture paste was painted with Goldfinger metallic paint and shading added with a soft pencil. 

The script from Tasty Textures was randomly stamped over the panel with StazOn. Another Tasty Textures stamp was further stamped over the panel this time with FlitterGlu and the edges of the panel lightly sponged with the FlitterGlu pad, this was then gilded with Manchester Tart Mega Flakes.  

The pink roses and butterflies from two sheets of 6x6 Floral Fantasy Mixed Media Card Stack were fussy cut, shaped and lightly splattered with dilute Goldfinger. The edges of the A6 'AA man' from Lost Family Mixed Media Card Stack was distressed and had Mega Flakes applied. These were arranged with lace and pearl trimmings and then glued in place.

Canvas Lost Letter

Hello in New Year, Monika here.

Today I want to show you my vintage, distressed canvas. I used the inside of the canvas so I could paint and stamp on frame. First I painted twice the whole area with IndigoBlu GeeSso Good! White, then I played with stamps, paints and sprays.

Look at this photograph of a soldier from new Mixed Media Papers - Lost Family. He is so nostalgic. I think these papers are perfect for retro and vintage projects. I distressed a little bit more his picture by stamping some Ink Splats on it and doing some real splashes.

I also played with a new stamps set called Tasty Textures, these are so gorgeous!

Lost in Thought - Layout

Hi Folks, Georgie here today and I have a layout to share. Firstly, check out the picture... isn't she beautiful? IndigoBlu are releasing some vintage/olde-worlde style mixed media pictures called Lost Family. Perfect for scrapbookers!! The thing with old style photos/pictures is that they are so versatile and allows the user to take on any colour combination or style of layout that they wish. They work with everything!!!

So many new releases for stamps plus other bits coming up from IndigoBlu - seriously you won't want to miss them... Here is what I used in this layout and what you can look out for:

• 'Textures' Stencil (available now!)
• 'Lost Family' focal pictures

Here's a close up of the gorgeous picture;

Hmmm... where do I start here :) ... Stencils, that's a good place!! The squares were made using the new 'Textures' stencil and IndigoBlu Texture Paste. Such a great little stencil with so much to choose from on it. The paint is Cinderella, a shimmery, metallic fuchsia pink, but watered down and spritzed to create a watercolour bleed effect - pretty darn good for an acrylic posing as a watercolour. 

Just a little close up of some of the items used it the layout. You can, seriously, use anything near enough, to do a mixed media layout. I'm not talking bricks, but brick dust, perhaps? Okay should have gone with another example, but you can, buttons, twine, thread, nuts and bolts, cutlery, old packaging boxes. The trick with these kind of layouts is using your stamps to act as an extension of your layout, to soften the focus between the 'bits' and the paper behind. So... fancy giving something like this a go??? Any questions do ask and I will always be happy to help.

Lady Heart

Hi there, it's Kay. Can't believe it's nearly Christmas, but I'm taking a break and sharing this heart panel to show some of the new Mixed Media Papers being released to trade at the beginning of 2016.  

I'm loving these new papers and unable to decide which are my favourites, but the Lost Family and Arts and Crafts After Morris sets are front runners!

The heart shaped panel was first painted with black Gee-SsoGood then covered with Townhouse Teal paint, blended with a little SleepingBeauty paint. Interest was added by stamping Teeny Backgrounds with FlitterGlu and applying Chocolate Box Mega Flakes and stamping one of the Tasty Textures stamps with Peppermint Tea paint.

I coloured the glamorous lady from the Lost Family paper set with Copic markers and now it looks just like a old fashioned tinted photo! The edges have been lightly distressed and covered with  more Mega Flakes. The script is from the Tasty Textures stamp set and helps to add a little more glitz.  

Flower shapes and patterns from the Arts and Crafts After Morris 12x12 Mixed Media Paper pad were cut out, given a wash of Snow White paint then layered to frame the lady.   

I had such fun making this panel. Talking of fun, I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
