Acrylic Bee Tag

Hello it's Kay M here today and welcome to my first post of the year.

I would like to share this tag with you.  The lovely Nikki Killinger gave me a crafty goody bag for Christmas and it included an acrylic tag.  So I thought I'll use it with a technique Nikki has shown on Hochanda last year, here's my version.

One side of the backing was removed from the tag and the large bee from No 9 Bumblebees Collectors Edition was stamped with black StazOn Ink and they were painted over with Snow White for the wings, Lemon Meringue and Burning Bonfire acrylic paints.

When dry, Lime Marmalade, Cinderella and Purple Rain were watered down and splattered over the tag one colour at a time, making sure each was dry before adding another.

When all the splatters where dry I sponged over the tag with Townhouse Teal and Wimberry Pie blending the colours to give a soft colour transition.   Again this was left to dry.

The painted tag was then covered with Black Gee-Sso-Good and dried.

Now the fun bit, peeling the baking for the reveal!

I then stamped the sentiment from Pegasus and stars from Victorian Garden in Black StazOn.  And added a ribbon to finish the tag.

I do hope you have enjoyed my take on Nikki's technique.

Take care,  Kay M x

Pegasus

Hello, Jannet here today to wish you a magical, happy, and above all a healthy 2018! I wanted to begin this new year with a magical and hopeful card featuring the gorgeous Pegasus He is already to take off on his first flight of the year.

I used versamarker on his wings and heat embossed in silver. I then coloured the wings with Porcelain luscious which I had already  mixed with a little water. It gives such a lovely sheen, just perfect for wings!

After stamping the gorgeous Pegasus I added colour to him with Pink, Porcelain, and Poseidon Blue Luscious.

My favourite colour is pink so I chose Mulberry Bush and Marshmallow Paints for the  background colours. Of course not everyone is a lover of pink, so they can be any colour of your imagination.
I selected the word Hope from the Faith  stencil, as I thought this was the best word to start a new year with. I used fine texture paste in the stencil and painted over it with what else but Pink luscious !

I added some Wishing Stars from the Stars stencil, and some random circles from the Texture stencil

I added the Numbers stamp to represent the count down to the new year and also for the days to come in this new year.

I added Pegasus and his wings to the background with 3d sticky pads. I curved the larger wing forwards a little.

The Luscious. coloured some dried flowers very nicely.

I added some Fine Texture Paste mixed with a little Mulberry Bush paint at the base of the picture, and added a selection of clear beads and tiny stars which reflect light .A new year is often a time for reflection..

May all your hopes come true in 2018 xxx

Flower Tag

Hello and welcome, it's Kay M here with today's post.    I've made a simple tag with the fabulous new floral stamps the Kay recently introduced and have highlighted a few blooms with autumnal colours with Luscious powders.

I painted a grey board tag with black Gee-Sso-Good to get a lovely flat matt background.  This was to compliment the texture of Floral Power stamped in Versafine and heat embossed in clear embossing powder as shown.

Flowers from Wild Poppy, Marigold and Peony and Anemone and Daisy sets were stamped onto white card in Versafine black and embossed in clear embossing powder.   They were then painted with Red, Orange, Rose Bronze and Gold Luscious powders, fussy cut and the raw edges coloured with black pen.  An extra area of card was painted with the same colours, to create a masterboard, and when dry the sentiment from Pegasus was stamped in black and heat embossed in clear embossing powder and cut out.  Repeating the heat embossing process gives unity to the whole project.

To finish, red and orange Luscious were used to colour some shear ribbon lengths and when dry these were tied to the tag.  The sentiment and flowers were then attached as shown.

The same technique could also be used to make a card for an autumn celebration.   I hope you have been inspired!

Take care,  Kay M

Welcome Pegusas!

Hello,      Kay M here and would like to share a simple card with the fabulous new Pegasus stamp Kay Halliwell-Sutton launched last week on Hochanda.  It also comes with a wonderful sentiment that can be used whole or cut up as I have here.

I stamped Pegasus onto a 14.5cm2 white card and the sentiment on extra card with embossing ink then heat set bronze embossing powder.

The sentiment was trimmed into two halves and edged with embossing ink then heat set bronze embossing powder.

Pegasus  was coloured with pale alcohol pens to enhance his shape.

Bronze and Gold Luscious powders were mixed with a little water and painted directly onto the No. 6 Bubble stamp from the Limited Edition.

Pegasus was masked with a cut out that was stamped onto copy paper, and had repositionable glue on the reverse.  The painted stamp was misted with water and repeatedly stamped across the image.   The sentiments were then attached.

The sentiments were also covered and gold Luscious mixed with water splattered over.    When dry the masks removed and the panel was adhered to the front of a 15cm2 white card blank.

I've had so much fun stamping with Pegasus and you get to love him too!

Thank you for visiting,   Kay M
