Dandelion Dreams

Hello Everyone and Welcome!

Today Ksenija is here, and I am happy to share with you a new project as a part of June inspiration from International DT.

I am featuring Victorian Garden stamp set in combination with Collector's Edition series. This set will be released soon and is available now for pre-order at IndigoBlu online store.

I started with watercolouring a piece of watercolour paper in blue and green stripes and die-cutting squares. Then stamped down Cross Hatch pattern and Numbers from Collector's Edition in soft grey ink.

I stamped a dandelion twice in black archival ink down to a card base and repeatedly down to die cut squares. The lower square is glued to card base, while the upper one is foam taped for additional dimension.

CAS Distress Stain Ombre Silhouette Card

It's summer time and the livin' is easy!  Autumn with you today to share a simple silhouette card design featuring our lovely new Victorian Garden stamp set.  Here in the US, we've gone wild over Distress Stains, so I created an ombre sunset background with those.  I simply dabbed them onto my craft mat in rows of color then smooshed my watercolor paper into the ink, dabbing any drips.

There are so many color options you could use for this card design, but I chose a sunset palette.  I layered some fabric washi tape at the bottom for a punch.

To get my sentiment just perfect, I first stamped it onto my background panel, then onto the cut circle and matched up the font.  This sentiment is from our new Shine Bright stamp set with the lightbulbs - another must have!

I am featuring Victorian Garden in combination with Megaflakes. This set will be released soon and is available now for pre-order at IndigoBlu online store.

I started with stamping down a beautiful quote from Victor Hugo and a grass silhouette in black archival ink directly to a card base.

Then die cut a square from a piece of card stock and blended in a mix of Distress inks to create ombre effect from bright yellow to dark green.

Using FlitterGlu stamped down the grass to the square panel a bit off the edge and covered the impression with Chariot of Fire Megaflakes. These Megaflakes come in a pure bright gold shade and stand out beautifully on a green-blue background.

Finally stamped down a bee from the same stamp set in black archival ink and mounted the square to the card base using foamed tape.

DIY Designer Paper with Acrylic Paint

Autumn with you today to take you on a fun little journey with the new range of paints, Skin Tones Acrylic Matte.  I absolutely love this range from apricot to rouge to porcelain - they are gorgeous!

I thought I would test them out on my new Gelli Plate.  I definitely need more practice with the plate, but it was fun nonetheless.  You could replicate these techniques with a brayer DTP if you don't have a plate.  I printed the pink you see on the left, then loaded my plate with a lighter color of paint.  I stamped this soon to be released numeral stamp into the plate and stamped onto my pink panel repeatedly.  After, I did another press with the paint left on the plate, which reverses the image as you see in the finished product below (left).

I cut the best sections that would make great bases and then used the scraps with dies.  For my first project today I am showing you what I did with this center layered panel.  You can see the number printed paper worked great to cut my doily.  The numbers don't show, just the color variation on such an intricate die.

I made one more sheet of colored paper by dropping a little paint onto my craft mat and spraying with water then smooshing my paper into it.  I used it as the base to stamp these butterflies from the Victorian Garden set repeatedly in pink and brown ink.

I gave everything a splat of Metallic Goldfinger Acrylic to finish it off.  The photos don't show the color variation and depth, but trust me it's there!

The next day I picked up one of the other panels and decided to test out Distress Oxide inks over the paint.  Just as I had hoped, the paint did resist the ink in a way.  The ink soaked into the unpainted sections of my paper.  I decided to overstamp and make a pattern, similar to designer paper.  So I embossed the butterfly repeatedly.

See there the number stamping coming through the butterfly?  This butterfly stamp is just soft enough to make a beautiful pattern without being overwhelming.  LOVE!

I layered up some dies and our fabulous Flutterby stamp, which I stamped in brown over some leftover smooshed paper.  Finally, I added one of the sentiments from the set, stamped in the same DOX and attached with the Tiny Attacher.  Thanks for reading to the end!  ;0  I hope you are inspired to make some paper today with your IndigoBlu stamps.  Until next time...

Breath Deeply

Hello Cheremane here with you today. This month at IndigoBlu its all about stories. so here we go.

The girl behind the masked face was walking through a field on a beautiful sunny morning, she sat down in the middle of dandelion clock cluster, took a deep breath in and with one blow all the little dandelion heads took to the sky to float away to pastures new.

To begin I took a piece 6 x 6 of watercolour card and placed one half of the Girl in Profile stencil before spritzing with Stroke of Midnight Paint from the Junk and Disorderly range, To make the spritz I mixed one part paint to four parts water. 

With the other part of the Girl in Profile Stencil I covered up the spritzed part of the card. I added some Steam Whistle Paint to some phat foam and rubbed this over the face.

Once dry I used Leather Corset paint to stamp one of the grasses from Victorian Garden stamp set round the edge of the face. I just love using the IndigoBlu paints to stamp with.

Using flitterglu I stamped the dandelion from Victorian Garden stamp set and heat embossed it with super fine white embossing powder. The sentiment is from the fabulous Mindfulness stamp set. To finish off I edged the card with Leather Corset Paint and layered it onto a 7 x 7 card blank.

Easter Egg

Hello, It's Kay M here today with my spring project, a decorated egg which are a wonderful celebration of the season.   I have decorated a papermache two part egg shaped box, just perfect to house a chocolate egg!

A number of leaf sprigs were die cut and applied all over the outer surface using the Slap-it-On Matt  then GeeSsoGood white was painted both on the outside, and inside of the egg, then left to dry.    
I painted the inside with Lime Marmalade for a bright pop of colour.

The outside was painted first with Peppermint Tea and dried.  Then I applied Olive Waistcoat over the leaf shapes with a paint brush and removed excess with kitchen towel so the paint was removed from the raised areas.  LimeMarmalade was then dry brushed over, this gave a lovely textured appearance to the egg.

A sentiment from Victorian Garden was stamped in black ink and heat embossed with clear powder onto white card, cut out and edged in black ink and adhered to the egg.

The flower sprig from the Clock Work Stamp Set was repeatedly stamped in black ink and heat embossed with clear powder onto white card.  They were then painted with Mulberry Bush and Lemon Meringue paints and after the flowers had been fussy cut, they were glued onto the leaf shapes.

The Bee from Victorian Garden was repeatedly stamped in black ink and heat embossed with clear powder onto heat resistant acetate.   Lemon Meringue paint was painted over the bodies and left to dry.   The Bee's were then fussy cut and attached to the egg.

I finished by adding a chocolate egg!

Butterfly Tag

 Cheremane here with you today, let me take you for a walk through a Victorian Garden with some stunning new IndigoBlu goodies.

I started with a little resin frame I had in my stash and painted it with the New Junk and Disorderly paint Olive Waistcoat.

I mixed 1 part paint to 4 parts water to make a spritz with Warm Tan, another of the new paint colours, then spritzed a Junk and Disorderly tag and let it dry before stamping one of the sentiments from the new Victorian Garden stamp set. I added some Steam Whistle paint eekkk another new colour to some phat foam.

 I then used the Steam Whistle and the phat foam to stamp the lovely grasses from Victorian Garden stamp set. Stamping with the Indigoblu paints is so effective but make sure you clean your stamp straight away.

I added some of the Warm Tan to phat foam and stamped one of the butterflies from Victorian Garden, I also spritzed the paper roses with the Warm Tan and Olive Waistcoat paint to coordinate with the other elements.

To finish off I edged the tag with Steam Whistle then I attached the roses and butterfly with glue gel, added some green micro beads and some grey ribbon. There we have it a beautiful Victorian Garden walk.
