IndigoBlu launches (part two)... Christmas Wreath, Christmas Stag and Deer Forest

Hi everyone and welcome! We have some exciting news to reveal (for those of you who haven't already seen Kay Halliwell-Sutton's latest FB Live video from Wednesday 5th July HERE).

Kay will be launching some brand new Christmas stamp sets from IndigoBlu on HOCHANDA this weekend starting Saturday 8th July at 6pm, and with shows throughout Sunday 9th July (all details on sidebar).

As well as an A5 Christmas Wreath stamp set and two A6 stamps, Christmas Stag and Deer Forest, there will also be two new 6x6 stencils, Damaged Snowflakes and Snow. We thought you'd enjoy getting to see some of the show samples from the design team in advance to help whet your appetites.

Steampunk Papillon by Jenny Marples

Hi everyone and welcome! Jenny here in my capacity as Resident Guest Designer to share a new steampunk fantasy themed canvas I've created using IndigoBlu's 'Steampunkesque' range.

Fabric Fantasy

Hi everyone and welcome! Jenny here to share a new project with you today. Before getting started, a big thank you to everyone who tuned in to see my first Hochanda shows and to everyone who took the time to catch up with Kay, Elizabeth, Cheremane and myself at the Port Sunlight show last weekend. It's always special to share our passion for all things IndigoBlu. If you missed out remember that the IndigoBlu 5th Birthday Open Day will take place at Retford on Monday 30th May!!! Now for that new project - I'm building on the stamping on fabric ideas I shared on tv, translating them to card making. Here's the finished card...

And here's how it came together; start with a piece of fabric, stuck to a card base with Fabric Slap It On and stitched to create a border. Then stamp the half doily shape from the Floral Fantasy stamp set using Wimberry Pie Acrylic Paint.

Stamp the large butterfly three times from the same stamp set onto more fabric using Wimberry Pie again, sticking them onto packaging using the Fabric Slap It On. When dry cut out, mould with your heat gun and edge with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Stamp one of the sentiments from the Floral Fantasy set onto a kraft card tag and layer onto a second tag using dimensional tape.

Spray a couple of pre-made flowers with dilute Wimberry Pie Acrylic Paint and allow to air dry; the paint will draw some of the green ink out of the lower layer of leaves.

Returning to the background, add strips of coordinating lace to the centre of the doily design and layer over the stamped tags.

To finish add the painted flowers, butterflies and some more coordinating flowers to finish the design before mounting onto a card blank.

That's it for today. Hopefully you'll see from this that all those stamping and stencilling tips and techniques work equally well on fabric for a card as they do for cushion covers.

A House of Small Treasures

Hi everyone and welcome! Jenny here and today I'm sharing my latest project with you. IndigoBlu have a fantastic large wooden house frame in stock that perfect for altering and filling with all your small treasures and curios.

I started by giving the raw wood a coat of gesso and added some modelling paste through the Texture stencil onto the roof. The 'back walls' were covered in a mix of 6x6 European Grand Tour Mixed Media Papers and some paper painted with Raven Black Metallic Paint and stamped in the gesso with one of the Teeny Backgrounds. I also added one of the Word Blocks #1 to another piece of the Raven Black painted paper.

To add some age to the house I then dripped dilute Pheasant Bronze and Kingfisher Blue Metallic Paints over it, allowing the paint to run onto all the surfaces. Then it was time to add the 'treasures'. I stuck to bits and bobs that fitted with the main colour scheme so it wouldn't look too messy.

Die cut and stencilled flowers and leaves were coloured with the same metallic paints as before and scattered throughout the house.

In the eaves of the house I added a paper clay moulded piece that had a mix of the Pheasant Bronze and Gold Metallic Paint run through it to highlight the details.

Further moulded pieces, chipboard shapes and die cuts were added, again altered using the four metallic paints. There are some fantastic Mod Podge moulds in stock at IndigoBlu which can be used with moulding clays and the new Diamond Resin too.

I had great fun altering this little house frame and finding the bits and bobs that could go inside it, and hope it's given you some ideas for altering one of your own.
