Cracked Glass Mixed Media Butterfly

Hi friends!  Autumn Clark of SewPaperPaint with you today for a guest post.  Today I'm sharing a second variation of the crackle project I first posted HERE.  

I was in the mood to make some grungy mixed media and pooled together my all time favorite IndigoBlu stamps for this project.

First I painted a piece of mat board with Goldfinger metallic paint.  I distressed the edges of the painted panel, then sponged with sepia archival ink.

My panel was cut double the size of the Crackleglaze stamp.  I applied Super Thick Slap It On with a palette knife then pressed the image into the wet paste two times for complete coverage.  It is important to quickly wash your stamp with a brush afterwards.

I dried my panel with a hair dryer on the coolest setting.  Once it was mostly dry I quickly wiped on black GeeSso Good and then wiped away most of the gesso with a wet cloth.

It helped to spritz with water before wiping.  I had forgotten how I made the first crackle panel with a Distress Crayon, but in the end really liked the effect of the black GeeSso Good.

The finished result resembles cracked glass with the Goldfinger paint beneath.  I sponged the edges with sepia archival ink for a little depth.

I stamped the Numbers Collectors Edition stamp in gold on a black panel for a mat.  I would like to turn this into a handmade journal cover, but for now it is a card.

For my focal image I embossed in black the Flutterby Dinkie onto leftover inky card.  I fussy cut it and layered over a bundle of string and an oval stamped with the larger numbers from the Shine Bright set.  I used the paint as ink this time.  I love the uneven effect it gives.

Finally I partially stamped pieces of the sentiment from the Shine Bright set and cut them out to make a different wording.  I added a key charm to complete the look.

I can't tell you how much fun I had making this panel and playing with these stamps!  I hope you will give these techniques a try.  Thanks for having me join you again, Autumn

Leave a Trail card with Emmy

Hello IndigoBlu fans!

Emmy here with my first project for April. This month we are focusing on stories at IndigoBlu blog. And here is mine - when I was little my granddad told me and my sister to think before we speak and that words are powerful and can really make a difference. He filled our house with books and stories and taught us how to appreciate words. So, today I thought to create a card with my favourite saying from IndigoBlu.

For my background I used the Grand Tour III Red Rubber Stamp - I heat embossed the compass using white embossing powder and my favourite quote with gold embossing powder. Then I coloured the panel using Luscious Pigment Powder - Blue mixed with Slap It On - Super Thick. As a final touch I added Unicorn Sparkles - Magical glitter.

Then I stamped Industrial Lamps Large Red Rubber Stamp using FlitterGlu and Megaflake Manchester Tart. I coloured the image using Scattered Straw and Squeezed Lemonade distress ink pads.

Take the Moment & Make it Perfect Card

Hello IndigoBlu fans!

Emmy here today with a new project to share. This month is all about fireworks on the IndigoBlu blog and I've decided to create a card featuring the Chemistry Lab Red Rubber Stamp - after all there are no fireworks comparable to the big bang!

As you can see I used a lot of different IndigoBlu products on this card. To create the background I had a 10 x 14 cm piece of white cardstock, which I stamped using the Chemistry Lab Red Rubber Stamp and FlitterGlu. After I was satisfied with my design I added Megaflake Royal Peacock on top.

To give extra glimmer & glam to the big bang "fireworks" I added some Unicorn Sparkles - Magical glitter to them. 

To colour my background I used a mixture of Slap It On - Super Thick with a little bit of Luscious Pigment Powders - Silver and Luscious Pigment Powders - Blue. Once you've applied the colour, rub gently the images with your finger to remove the slap it on medium from them. 

For my sentiment I used Floral Fantasy Red Rubber Stamp with silver embossing powder. Once the image has cooled down, I coloured the panel with Artist's Acrylic Paint Vodka Martini.

Happy Holidays card with Emmy

Hello everyone!

Emmy here today with a winter card I created with the amazing IndigoBlu products. This month is all about the Christmas spirit.  

To create the background of my card I stamped the Snowflake Lace Red Rubber Stamp with FlitterGlu on white cardstock and heat embossed the set using white embossing powder. Once the project has cooled down I colored the cardstock with a mixture of Super This Slap It On medium and Blue Luscious Pigment Powder.

I stamped the large reindeer from the Winterland Wood Red Rubber Stamp - by Kay Halliwell-Sutton with FlitterGlu on a white cradstock and used Megaflake Royal Peacock to colour the image. 

Then I stamped one of the frames from the Indigoblu Vintage Frame Red Rubber Stamp by Kay Halliwell-Sutton using FlitterGlu and silver embossing powder.

Jewel and Roses

Hello it's Kay here,  I do hope you enjoy my first post for this year's IDT, loving the work from the other ladies, it seems we all have fallen for Jewel!

 I've used the fabulous new Luscious powders, Extra Thick Slap-it-on, Rose stencil, Jewel, Spirit of Christmas, Unicorn Sparkles AND a sneaky peek at the soon to be released 6x6 paper pads!!   This is a board inspired by the Finnabair class on this year's Wanderlust journey. 

The 6" square canvas board was painted with Black Gee-Sso-Good, then small squares of the new papers were adhered on top with Slap-It-On-Matt, Extra Thick Slap-It-On was applied through the rose stencil.  This was then left to dry.

Texture elements- buttons, mesh, hot glue dots, chip board shapes were then applied using the Slap-It-On to the centre area of the board.  When dry these were then painted with Black Gee-Sso-Good and left to dry.  A small amount of Black Gee-Sso-Good was mixed with Slap-It-On Gloss and this was used as a wash over the whole board and to soften the margin of the black painted area and left to dry.

Out came the Luscious! Coral, purple and teal powders were dusted over the board and missed with water to set.  Jewel and the sentiments where stamped in black ink and heat embossed in clear powder, these were coloured with gold Luscious.

Paper roses were painted black and coloured with the purple and teal and foliage with gold Luscious powders.  These were attached to the board and silver Luscious mixed with water and applied to highlight raised areas before Jewel and the sentiments were adhered.

To finish,  dots of FlitterGlu were added around Jewel and Unicorn Sparkles applied, magical!
