Stamping Collage

Morning, Carolyn here with you today. 

I was recently inspired by Kay's Fabric Panels and have created a collage on a small 100mm square canvas. The Indigoblu Fabric Panels were extremely popular and what a quick sell out on Hochanda last week. 

Firstly I selected most of the Collectors Edition stamps together with Jane and a couple of Itsy Bitsy Backgrounds. These were stamped in Black onto Tissue.

I tore close to the edges of the stamped images as this gives a less defined edge when positioning them on the canvas. I made Jane the main focal point and added the various stamps around the edges. These were then adhered to the canvas with Slap It On Matte.

I painted Jane with the Junk And Disorderly Portrait Paints. These were mixed with Slap It On Matte so they didn't dry out as quick. On the rest of the canvas I used IndigoBlu Acrylic Matte Paints and for the highlighted areas I used White Gee-Sso Good.

I painted a 150mm Square Deep Box frame white and left this to dry before stamping the edges of the frame with the Itsy-Bitsy honeycomb Background in Frosty Sky

I used Super Thick Slap It On to adhered the painted canvas centrally in the frame.

20,000 Leagues

Hello and welcome,    Kay M here today with a 20cm x20cm canvas with my take on this month's theme of story telling.  The story is not personal but the classic 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne.  

The Nautilus came to mind  after I finished Steampunk inspired mini panel so it was incorporated into canvas using two of my favourite stamp sets- Steampunkesque and Under the Sea.  

For the canvas background fine textured paste was applied through the Laural Leaves stencil over the lower half, when dry the whole canvas was painted with Gee-Sso-Good white.  A wash of Stroke of Midnight, Kingfisher Blue and Emerald City then painted on, misted with water and left to dry naturally.   

  Images from  Under the Sea were then stamped with Kingfisher Blue and Vodka Martini.

 

The Steampunk inspired mini panel was made by arranging strips of hammer card in a random patchwork pattern on to a10cmx10cm  grey board and adhere with Slap-It-On-Matt.  

Apply 3D paint dots along the seam edges and dry.    

 Glue pin, cardboard and resin shapes as shown and dry.  

 Paint the entire board with black Gee-Sso-Good. 

For the metal effect blend a little Gee-Sso-Good- Black with Sleeping Beauty paint and Raven Black with a little Hot Cocca paints on a plate/tile, 

Use a paintbrush to apply each paint mix in patches over the surface and blending together, when dry, repeat. 
 

Use a finger to apply Gee-Sso-Good white to highlight the raised areas and edges.   Dry brush PheasantBronze and Vodka Martini paints individually over the whole board, concentrating colour on the shapes and faux rivets. 

The image from Steampunkesque was stamped, heat embossed in clear, painted and fussy cut.  

The ship's wheel and anchor were die cut form kraft card and 3D Roman numerals to the value of 20,000 had Chocolate Box Megaflake applied with FlitterGlu.   

All the elements were adhered to the canvas and a colourful 'monster from the deep' made from paper clay and painted with IndigoBlu English Cottage Paints added to finish.

Industrial Valentine

Today we have Brand Ambassador Louise Withers sharing a valentine project with us. 

1, Emboss card using industrial folders, I used 4 different ones. Cut them into shapes 

and arrange on a large tag, in a mosaic pattern. Do the same with a half heart shape.

2. Paint everything with white gesso, when dry spray or dry brush with black gesso, but 

don't totally cover the tag. 

3. Then dry brush with bonfire, then coco, then black, then teal. Keep building up the 

layers. 

4. When happy rub over with a graphite stick or pencil to bring out all the textures. 

5. For the heart use postbox, teal, choc  and black and repeat with graphite. 

6. Stamp splat then emboss. 

7. Place heart where you want it and draw round it. Use this to help you cut the mesh. 

8. Paint mesh with coco and bonfire, cut out heart shape but leave attached at one point 

and fold it out. I also added puff paint too. 

9. Stick down the heart, place the mesh over the whole tag and I've folded over the top 

and bottom to attach it.
