Seahorse by Ksenija

Hello Everyone and Welcome!

Today Ksenija is here, and I am happy to share with you a new project as a part of January inspiration from International DT.

Today I am featuring Seahorse red rubber stamp from Collector's Edition. How adorable is this Seahorse!

Tips on Making This Card:

  • Trim the panel from white card stock down to 4 1/4 by 5 1/2" (10 by 14 cm)
  • Stamp the seahorse in black archival ink off the center
  • Stamp the seahorse down to mask paper and fussy cut out the mask

  • Colour the impression with watercolour markers
  • Mask off the seahorse coloured impression and the edges of the card panel
  • Blend Distress inks onto the panel
  • Rub off the excess of the foil to reveal beautiful gilded impressions
  • Remove the mask from the seahorse and stamp down DREAM from Sarah's Choice red rubber stamps set in black ink
  • Adhere the card panel to a black card base
Now over to you - Have you tried this seahorse stamp already? What type of projects did you make or would like to make with it? Cards? Tags? Altered objects?

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

Breathe

Hello Everyone and Welcome!

Today Ksenija is here, and I am happy to share with you a new project dedicated to the approaching St Valentine Day.

I am featuring one stamp set by IndigoBlu Plume and demonstrating megaflakes in combination with watercolour markers.

I started with stamping down the biggest feather from Plume set in black archival ink and then continued with stamping in FlitterGlu and Autumn Blaze Megaflakes. Foil flakes are resistant to watercolor and I easily coloured the impression with watercolour markers.

I love a marble effect of Autumn Blaze Megaflakes and slightly raised texture they add to an impression. This time I unevenly applied FlitterGlu to the stamp to avoid full coverage of the image.

An elegant one word sentiment stamped in matching deep red archival ink completes the card. To balance the colour scheme I stamped splatters from the same set in black ink and mounted the card panel to a black card stock base.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope, you enjoy this card and you will play with Plume set before St Valentine day.

I am wishing you a bright sunny day!

Clean and Simple Thank You Cards

Hello Everyone and Welcome!

Today Ksenija is here, and I am happy to share with you a new project dedicated to Autumn.

I started with applying Flitter Glu to a leaf stamp from one of my all time favourite stamp set Blooming Great and stamping it down to a a white card stock panel. Then I covered the impression with Morris Dance Megaflakes and rubbed off the excess.

To create a decorative stripe I used Texture stencil and blended in Distress inks in Abandoned Coral, Fired Brick and Aged Mahogany. Megaflakes are resistant to dye inks, but to restore shine I always wipe off inks after stencilling. To finish off the card I stamped down the sentiment in black Archival ink and mounted the panel to a soft grey card base.

I am always sending many Thank you cards and try to theme them up to the season. This design and techniques are so simple that allow making several cards without big effort. For the second card I used Autumn Blaze Megaflakes and a blend of Tumbled Glass, Stormy Sky and Salty Ocean Distress inks.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope, you enjoy these cards.

A Magical Altered Book

Hello Giovanna here, with my first post as International Design Team member :-)
I am well known as a crazy upcycler and this time is no exception: books are one of my favourite things to alter,  these are pretty easy to find, can become unusual ArtJournal or lovely artworks to display.
The main charactere of this story is Jewel, and such a mithological animal can walk only on golden roads, that lead to enchanted houses.

And the tiny bottle, encased in a golden niche, can only contains Unicorn Sparkle.

To alter a book, open it in the middle and gesso the pages. When dry add some texture spreading the gorgeous Super Thick Slap it On through a stencil. When dry spray with your favourite mists.

Stamp on white cardstock the door and the unicorn, cut them out, colour them and glue to the pages.
Add all the golden details you like, stamping with the Flitter glue and brushing the Mega Flakes. To make the road pat the phat foam with Flitter Glue and cover with the Mega Flakes.

And then, Believe in Magic!

Altered Trunk with Solange Marques

Hi Everyone, it's Solange Marques here today to share with you an altered trunk.

I love to make suitcases and trunks from cartons. This piece was done by myself. For this project I used the IndigoBlu European Grand Tour Mixed Media Paper Pad 12x12 to cover the outside of the trunk.

I added lots of metal trims, a handle and old belts to the trunk;

I applied IndigoBlu Mega Flakes Autumn Blaze on some places of the trunk:

For the inside of the trunk I used the IndigoBlu Cartography Mixed Media Paper Pad 6x6 and I added images from the A5 IndigoBlu Grand Tour II stamp set;
