Chocolate and Roses Canvas

Hello and welcome,
Kay M here today with my Chocolate and Roses canvas board. The  chocolate comes from the gorgeous ChocolateBox Megaflakes and the roses with the Rose stencil and colours chosen to give a vintage romantic feel to highlight this month's heart theme.

Fine texture paste was thinly spread over a 18cmx24cm canvas board to give a rough plaster texture.  When dry, more paste was used through the Rose stencil across the middle of the board and dried,  then  whole board was painted with Gee-Sso-Goodwhite.   Pheasant Bronze, Townhouse Teal and Marshmallow paints was applied in patches and brush blended into each other.  When dry, Dinkie Script was randomly stamped over and the roses highlighted with a brown Archival ink.    Gee-Sso-Good white was dry brushed over the canvas for a softer look.

Super Thick Slap it On was mixed with a little Rose Bronze Luscious powder and this was applied through the Family stencil onto tissue paper. When dry,  individual words were added to the canvas with Matt Slap it On.

The Dinkie Heart stamp was stamped with FlitterGlu on card and then covered with Chocolate Box Megaflake.  The heart was then cut out, given a wash of Rose Bronze Luscious then clear embossing powder applied.    Another heart was stamped out using Brown Archival ink on a sheet of card which had been painted with Rose Bronze Luscious powder, that was then cut out.   Chocolate Box Megaflake's were also applied to a heart frame.

The canvas was finished by adhering the hearts with lace trim, die cut arrows and a feather embellishment as shown.

I do hope you get inspired to join in our heart theme this month and enter the blog challenge!

Take care,  Kay M

Script Heart

Hi Cheremane here with you today. We are feeling the Love over at IndigoBlu this month so I have created a simple but effect card.

To begin I took a piece of water colour card mixed some  Luscious Powder with water.

I didn't add to much water with the Luscious powder as it will give you texture to your card. I just adore the sheen of the the mica from the Luscious Powder.

I stamped the Dinkie Script stamp twice with black archival ink.

I then die cut two small hearts with a random die I had in my crafty stash.

I adore the new Mindfulness stamp set and wanted to use just three words of the one sentiment so I masked off the rest of the stamp with some tape before I inked it up with black archival ink, I then removed the tape before stamping the sentiment on my card.

Thanks for dropping by I hope you will  pop back again soon and join in the IndigoBlu love.

Hearts that Flourish Mixed Media Valentine Card

Autumn with you today to share a lovey dovey Valentine made with some of your favorite not so Valentine stamps.

I started by making a mask for the Vintage Frame stencil and stamping around the mask with the Script background stamp in black.

I used modeling paste through the stencil, then used Distress Ink to watercolor my background.

I stamped the leaves from the Blooming Great set in Picked Raspberry and fussy cut.  I embossed the flower from the same set in white, then dipped into watery Spun Sugar.  I stamped Vintage Flourish in Picked Raspberry onto a heart die cut and embossed with clear embossing powder.

I layered with a few other dies and cheesecloth.

I was going for high contrast and added some metallic silver card to the mix.  The heart is just so beautiful with this pattern, don't you think?  I hope you are inspired to think outside of the box with your IndigoBlu stamps today.

You still have time to enter our Love is All You Need challenge for a chance to win IndigoBlu stamps!  We hope you'll join us.

Love Beyond Words with Emmy

Hello IndigoBlu fans!

Emmy here today with a brand new project to share. This month is all about LOVE! Of course :-) What I prepared for today is not the usual Valentine's card, but I really love this quote and I think it says it all!

To create my card I used two different stamp sets, Mega flakes and Flitter Glu

I stamped the swirl using  Floral Swirl A6 Red Rubber Stamp. I added Flitter Glu to a Indigoblu Phat Foam and "inked" the stamp with it. Once I've stamped the image onto white cardstock, I covered it with Megaflake Chocolate Box

I coloured the background using Tim Holtz Distress Ink pads - Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold and Fired Brick

For my sentiment I used Live Laugh Love A5 Red Rubber Stamp with gold embossing powder.

I die cut the frame around my sentiment and coloured it with Indigoblu Artist's Acrylic Paint Goldfinger (Metallic Gold 60ml).

I hope you enjoyed today's project!

Come back soon for more inspirational creations from our design team!

Jane Austen

Wishing everyone a very happy month of February! This month we are concentrating on everything love related. One of English Literatures most famous romantic writers was Jane Austen. Amongst many other classic novels she of course wrote "Pride and Prejudice".I thought that it would be fitting to pay a her a special tribute, she did give us Mr Darcy after all!

I began by stamping Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy, and fussy cut them.
I die cut Jane Austin's name, but alphabet stamps would be great too, or if unlike me you have nice handwriting it could be handwritten which would be even better!

For the background I made up a watery mix of blue and pink Watercolours. I added some iridescent medium to the mix to give it a slight sparkle. I then generously spritzed a sheet of watercolour paper with water. I lay both the Watercolours onto the paper and they flowed and merged together.
When dry I cut the piece for my background, and on the remainder I stamped the leaves and fussy cut them. I also drew a rough circle and cut it out, and cut a spiral shape starting from the edge of the circle leaving a circle in the centre.

Starting on the outside I rolled up the spiral to form a rose. When I reached the centre I glued the rolled rose onto the centre circle.

I stamped the lace border onto a 7x7 inch 17.78cm card blank. I added a little glitter with a clear sparkle pen onto the stamped lace.I also added some glitter to the rose and to the leaves.

Once all the pieces were completed I maneuvered them around the card until they looked nice, (they moved around a few times!) and then finally glued them all down in place.
For a finishing touch I stamped the Lace border onto the bottom front of the envelope.
We would love to see what you make, so why not join in this months challenge and also join us all in the I Love Indigoblu Facebook group and share all of your ideas and makes !

February 2017 Challenge - Love is all you need

Good morning,

So.. things have changed slightly, you may have noticed a date change for the challenge, we are now launching on the 1st of the month, with our reminder post coming out on the 21st.  So technically, February is the first IndigoBlu challenge this year.  Our theme had to be valentine related of course, so we'd like to see you interpret 'Love is all you need'.

To be in with a chance of winning a prize, you MUST include IndigoBlu stamps in your entry.  And it's one entry per person.  Other than that, you have free reign, and we'd love to see your makes, whether it's a card, or ATC, mixed media or clean and simple.

First we have the important task of announcing the winner of Decembers challenge, Snow Snow Snow.

Our winner each month gets the choice of stamps from IndigoBlu as follows:

So our winner of December's challenge, Sarah,  has waited very patiently to be our Guest Designer today, here is her piece and what she had to say:

I used what is fast becoming my favourite IB stamp the 'Script!' Used horizontally on the background and then vertically on the mdf heart! It really is a good multi-tasking  stamp.
I feel rather nervous as although I've been crafting for years I am new to showing my work off, so hope it comes over ok! My other other half has treated me to one of those pop up light box studio's which has made a  fantastic difference to the quality of my photo skills, so fingers crossed!

I'm sure you'll agree Sarah has done a fantastic job for us, please pop to her blog and leave her some love too.

Now it's our fab DT's turn, all returning for another year on the Challenge team, we really couldn't do this without them!
