Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you all!

Hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year whatever you've been up to. Here's to a happy, healthy and crafty 2019. Hope you're looking forward to more fabulous products from IndigoBlu. I'm sure Kay and Alfie will delight you with what's in store. In the meantime here's my quick make for the New Year.

I made a start using the Ink Smooshing technique. The Distress Oxide was pressed onto my Glass mat and spritzed with water. I then dragged my watercolour card through.

Each colour was dried before adding the next so the colours stayed true and didn't create a muddy mess.

The colours were added in the following order - Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade and Wilted Violet. Once dried drips of water were flicked onto the page and dabbed with kitchen roll to lift the colour.

Using the circle and barbed wire border from the Skullduggery Borders A5 Stamp Set this was inked with the Picked Raspberry.

Part of the stamp was used to make a second print using Wilted Violet and offset from first stamp. The words were taken from the Mindfulness #1 stamp set and stamped in Versafine Clair Charming Pink

The numbers were stamped onto a second Smooshed sheet in Charming Pink and then cut out and mounted onto pink cardstock. Happy New Year was written with a White Posca pen also on pink cardstock and cut out.

The card was then assembled with the numbers across the middle of the card and the Happy New Year placed beneath the 2019. The Smooshed watercolour card was mounted onto a pink card blank. Finally white highlights were added using the White Posca pen.

Thank you for stopping by and once again Happy New Year!

Happiness in Nature

Good Morning, Carolyn here with you today sharing my latest card using the most recent releases from IndigoBlu.

It's been a while so I thought I'd have a play with my Faber Castell Gelatos to create a colourful background. I chose Lavender, Grape, Tangerine, Bubble Gum and Mango. I randomly scribbled the colours on an A5 piece of watercolour card.

I then spritzed this with water and let the colours run taking care not to let them become a muddy mess. I dried this with my heat gun and laid down more colour so they were more vibrant. I used a baby wipe to merge the second layer of colours.

For the words I scribbled the Lavender and Grape Gelato over the stamp and spritzed with water before stamping onto watercolour card. I then cut these out.

The flowers from Nature III were stamped with Distress Oxide (Wilted Violet, Spiced Marmalade, Picked Raspberry). I used my water brush to pull some of the colour from the stamped image to create a watercolour effect. I then fussy cut all the flowers.

To create more interest in the background I stenciled the Inky Dink Wild Rose Stencil with Fine Modelling Paste before placing the words and flowers over.

Finally I assembled the background onto a purple card blank before positioning and adhering the words and flowers.

Thank you for joining me today and do pop back to see the fabulous inspiration from the team.

Tattoo Heart Tag

Hello, Kay M here with today's post. Our theme this month is 'Winging It' so I've had the prefect excuse to use the gorgeous Tattoo Heart Dinkie stamp, as the focal point on this die cut tag.

For the background I sponged Wilted Violet, Peeled Paint and Faded Jeans Distress Oxides over the tag, sprinkled it with water,  dried it off and then repeated the process again.  The tag was repeatedly over stamped with just only one inking of with Vintage Photo and Faded Jeans Distress Oxides using the new Collection's Edition stamps, I used No. 2 FrenchScript and No. 4 Numbers.   I went back in with Collection's Edition stamp No. 3 Cross Hatching and stamped around the edges with Ground Espresso Distress ink to create a border. The white lines (using the edge of a Slim Jim) and splatters were made with white GeeSsoGood.

The Tattoo Heart was stamped directly on the tag and again onto a piece white card, I then fussy cut the wings and banner from the white card.  Next I die cut a little heart from card with double sided tape and applied Sheffield Steel MegaFlake.  The sentiment was stamped from Live, Laugh & Love stamp set trimmed and edged with black ink.  All these were adhered to the tag as shown.

The tag was finished by edging with a black pen and ribbon and charms were added.

I hope you have enjoyed this tag and are inspired to made your own winged creation!

Take care,  Kay M
