Challenge 30 - Top 3 Inspiration - Precious Metals

Good morning!

Lovely to have you joining us again on the challenge blog, today it's time for the Top 3 from Challenge 29 - Flutterby, to share the pieces they have designed especially for us, to inspire you further this month, in the 'Precious Metals' challenge.  You still have a few days to enter, hurry and join us HERE.

I think you will agree these lovely ladies have done us proud!  Hop across to their blogs via the links to see how they made these inspirational pieces.

First we have Jane:

Jane had this to say:

I cannot tell you how much fun I have had doing this card, I was transported right back to my childhood days of doing wax crayon rubbings on gravestones and leaves and all sorts of different textures....except that there were no wax crayons in this technique. I started out with a sheet of aluminium foil, I laid it over the CIRCLE DOT BACKGROUND stamp and rubbed over the top with my bonefolder, then defined the circles more with my ball tool, taking care not to tear the foil, then leaving the foil on the stamp, I gave it a coat of black acrylic paint, then added some brown, orange and teal paint, dabbing it on here and there with a sponge, when it was dry, I rubbed silver gilding wax over the surface lightly to bring out the circles. I matted and layered it onto shaped die cuts, and clear embossed the same circle stamp on the top layer.  I sponged FLITTERGLU onto the dinkie FLUTTERBY stamp, stamped it onto vellum,  and added the MORRIS DANCE mega flakes....ohhhh how I love that colour!!!, I cut them out and added them with a bit of silicone glue. I made the litttle banner using a word from the TRULYMADLYDEEPLY stamp, and added it with a couple of metal brads.

Next we have Mari:

Mari told us:

I was thrilled to have my card chosen as one of the top 3 entries of the previous challenge and honoured to be asked to do an inspirational piece for this month's Precious Metals challenge. I love stamping with FlitterGlu and coating the stamped image with Mega-Flakes, but this time I wanted to try something different. I stamped Elizabeth Bennet with brown ink on to kraft card and framed her with a die cut shape. I cut the frame from kraft card covered with double sided tape and then coated it with Chocolate Box Mega-Flakes. I love that the flakes are so big that I could pick the colours I wanted and place them where I wanted on the frame. I embellished my card with organza ribbon which has gold satin edges to complement the Precious Metals theme.

And finally it's Veerle:

Veerle told us:

I have used the Mega Flakes Lancashire Rose. (This was my very first use of flakes ever. Must say i rather like doing it)
The stamps i used are the Peony Posey – the leaves from the Giant Peony and the Peony Dinkie.
Hope you like it. Have a nice day.

I hope you will agree, this is stunning inspiration from our Top 3 ladies of last months challenge.  You could be next, all you need to do is enter :)

So what are you waiting for... get creating and join us if you can, and win some fab Indigoblu stamps, and a guest spot on the blog.  Visit the Challenge HERE, and check out the rules HERE.  There aren't many, and it's worth a go.

Best wishes,

Challenge 29 - Flutterby - Top 3 Inspiration

Good morning!

Lovely to have you joining us again on the challenge blog, today it's time for the Top 3 from Challenge 28 - Pocketful of Posies, to share the pieces they have designed especially for us, to inspire you further this month, in the 'Flutterby' challenge.  You still have a few days to enter, hurry and join us HERE.

I think you will agree these ladies have done us proud!  Hop across to their blogs via the links to see how they made these inspirational pieces.

First we have: Donna

Donna had this to say:
Hi there, I was so thrilled at being asked if I could do an inspirational piece for this months ‘’Flutterby’’
challenge, so I got on to it straight away. I decided to alter a plain wooden heart box with the focal point
being ‘’Big Butterfly’’ very apt for this challenge!  After painting, stamping and embellishing, I finished off
with adding the butterfly, which I stamped on to heat resistant acetate using Frantage ‘Aged Copper’’ and

coloured with alcohol inks. I do hope you like it!!’’

Next up is: Sue Ralph:

Sue had this to say:
Well 'Wow'! So excited to be chosen as one of the Top 3 in last months blog Challenge, then to be asked to create an inspirational piece for this months Blog Challenge 'Flutterby', I was over the moon.
After a bit of thought I decided to create a Canvas piece so that I could do some painting with the English Cottage Paints, which I love by the way, do some stamping on white Clearly for art modelling film as well as doing  a bit of re-cycling! (using up the rolls double sided tape comes on)!
I used the paints to create a coloured wash on the canvas as well as some drips and splats, then to add a little texture I used some stencils with sparkle texture paste.
With the butterflies, stamped cut out and finished off I attached them with the now covered glittered rolls to the shimmery canvas.
Happy Crafting! xx

Our lovely third lady was unable to partake in the top 3 this time, but we will ask her to come back and show you something at a later date.

So what are you waiting for... get creating and join us if you can, and win some fab Indigoblu stamps!

Best wishes,
