An Autumn Canvas

Hello,   Welcome to the IndigoBlu Blog,  Kay M today and I would like to share an Autumnal canvas.  I've combined lots of textures with the Indigoblu English Cottage Artist'sAcrylic Paint colours of the season.

I began by covering an A4 sized canvas with skeletal leaves using Slap-it-On Matt and added dimensional paste butterflies through the Floral Fantasy stencil.  Cocktail and bamboo sticks were dipped into fine and coarse pastes and then glued in place.  Die cut leaves were crushed then scattered and adhered were they landed, the canvas was left the dry.   The entire canvas was then painted with Gee-Sso-Good white, a wash of BurningBonfire and two further washes of  Gee-Sso-Good white dabbed with Goldfinger, ensuring each layer was dried before adding the next.

Five chipboard leaves were covered with coarse paste and left to dry.  Ruby SlippersBurning Bonfire and Emerald City mixed with PheasantBronze  then  painted onto all the leaves.  Gold Luscious mixed with water was applied to highlight the paste butterflies.

Images and the sentiment from Nature II were stamped, painted and shaped where necessary.    The tree stump and ferns, stamped onto tissue paper and applied with Slap It On Matte, all the other elements secured with silicon glue as shown.

To finish a little brown Distress Ink was sponged around the canvas edge.

I do hope you enjoyed my autumn canvas.

Take care,  Kay M

Wild Butterflies

Hi there Cheremane here with you today. With Autumn in the air today I have choosen to use the beautiful
Wild Butterflies Stencil with the stunning Autumn shades of the yummy Luscious powders, they have so much mica in them they shimmer like the morning dew on a fresh autumn morning.

Firstly I took a 6 x 6 piece of water colour card along with some Texture Modelling Paste and a Palette Knife, with the left over paste on my mat I roughly added it round the edge of the card for some extra texture.

Once dry I placed the Stencil back over the raised Texture Paste and mixed the yummy Lusicous Powders with water and painted through the stencil over the texture paste, I find it much easier to paint over the stencil as it keeps the paint just were you want it. The Luscious colours I used are Orange, Bronze, Raspberry & Green. I also painted over the texture paste round the edges in a different colour on each side.

You can make different shades of the Luscious colours depending on how much water you add to the Luscious Powders.

For the sentiment I mixed some Super Thick Slap It On with the Bronze Luscious Powder and the Family Stencil which has a super array of words on it.

Super Thick Slap It On and Luscious are a match made in heaven.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you enjoy some crafty time of your own. xXx

Woodland Critter Autumn Tag

Autumn here with you today to set you in the mood for fall creating, I've created a sweet little autumn tag using two rather surprising stamp sets.  Though the stunning ornate stag gets most of the attention in the Winterland Wood Stamp Set, I really wanted to use the little pair of deer as a focal image for this project.  This versatile set can be used for so many occasions!

I turned to the Blooming Great set for the beautiful skeleton leaves to create my background.  I used Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain with some water to create my Distress background.  Next, I inked my leaves in Fossilized Amber and tapped Rusty Hinge and Peeled Paint along the sides for a realistic color.  I stamped the leaves repeatedly, overlapping in areas.  I went back and partially stamped the Script Background Stamp in the open areas.

Here is an closeup of the background.  I added a small talk sticker with a sketchy outline.

I stamped the deer on a die cut circle and framed them with other dies, ribbon and flowers.  They overlap a strip of torn sheet music and wrapped twine.  Thank you so much for your visit today and I hope you leave inspired to create your own autumn beauty.

Beautiful Autumn card with Emmy

Hello everyone!

Emmy here today with a brand new autumn card I created with the amazing IndigoBlu products. There will be a lot of Autumn projects on out blog in October :-)

To create the background of my card I stamped the image from the Rain Droplets Red Rubber Stamp with FlitterGlu on white cardstock and heat embossed the set using gold embossing powder. Once the project has cooled down I colored the cardstock with a mixture of autumn coloured Distress Ink Pads.

I stamped the lovely Ella from the Ella Bella A6 Red Rubber Stamp with FlitterGlu on a white cradstock and used Megaflake Chocolate Box to colour the image.

I hope I managed to inspire you today!

Have a very creative week!

Faith

Hi there Elizabeth here with an Autumnal project for you. When I think of Autumn colours I always think of the beautiful shades of Heather up in the hills, so that's what inspired me to do this little watercolour project, using the gorgeous Luscious powders.

The sheen is so pretty and doesn't get lost in the watercolour card.

I started out by stencilling Fine Modelling Paste through the Texture stencil, making sure it was dry, then brushing over the centre of the pattern first with Frosty Sky then blending over the top with Aladdin Metallic paint. Once they were dry I added some area's of Teal and Bronze Luscious powders, which I diluted with a small amount of water. I also added some splatters with the Bronze as well.

I adhered the mini watercolour off-centre over the texture.

And added some very faint grey stamping using the Script stamp.

I wanted to keep within the same colour family so I created my custom blend of texture paste using the gorgeous green Luscious powder. The paste picks up the colour, but it remains matt as the texture paste has a white base, so perfect.

Nothing went to waste, as I added the leftovers to my next project, a journal page. The matt tones work beautifully together.

So there you have my take on Autumn.

Happy Crafting
