Layered Background Artist Trading Coins

Hi Everyone Mike here!

Today it's my turn to share with you a quick and fun little project creating some "on trend" artist trading coins with a multilayered paint background!

These cute miniature works of art are just 2.5" in diameter - such a fun way to practice your art techniques!

As per usual I have recorded my entire process on video for you to watch if you feel so inclined! To watch simply click the YouTube link below.

Seahorse by Ksenija

Hello Everyone and Welcome!

Today Ksenija is here, and I am happy to share with you a new project as a part of January inspiration from International DT.

Today I am featuring Seahorse red rubber stamp from Collector's Edition. How adorable is this Seahorse!

Tips on Making This Card:

  • Trim the panel from white card stock down to 4 1/4 by 5 1/2" (10 by 14 cm)
  • Stamp the seahorse in black archival ink off the center
  • Stamp the seahorse down to mask paper and fussy cut out the mask

  • Colour the impression with watercolour markers
  • Mask off the seahorse coloured impression and the edges of the card panel
  • Blend Distress inks onto the panel
  • Rub off the excess of the foil to reveal beautiful gilded impressions
  • Remove the mask from the seahorse and stamp down DREAM from Sarah's Choice red rubber stamps set in black ink
  • Adhere the card panel to a black card base
Now over to you - Have you tried this seahorse stamp already? What type of projects did you make or would like to make with it? Cards? Tags? Altered objects?

Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

Soul Mate

Hello and a Happy New Year from Elizabeth. My first project for the year is using one of Kay's new Collectors Edition stamps, the Seahorse, which she designed especially for me.

Now sadly I managed to loose several photograph's as I swapped over onto my new laptop, so I do apologise.

Firstly I die cut a tag and covered it in the map paper and gave it a coat of White GeeSsoGood  before adding Glass Bead Gel and Mica Flakes, for texture.

I added a few large glass beads for more dimension. I had a scrap piece of inked card left over from making Christmas cards, which was just the right size and colour for stamping two of the Seahorses onto. After cutting them out I adhered them to the tag, so they were entwined.

I diluted some Verdigris and also Crushed Velvet Luscious and added the two colours all around the Glass Bead Gel, blending the edges so not to have any lines.

Finally I added sequins, some words from the Chit Chat Seasonal book with a frame drawn around, and a few black dots to tie the colours together.

Happy Crafting.
