Flamboyant Fall

Hello Everyone and Welcome!

Today Ksenija is here, and I am happy to share with you a new project as a part of October inspiration from International DT.
I am demonstrating use of a silhouette stamp for a Clean and Simple card. A beautiful stamp does not call for anything more than a spectacular background. For my card I chose a tree stamp from Nature I stamp set.
I started with watercolouring the background on a piece of watercolour paper using pigment powders. I wanted to create a monochromatic background with a lighter center and intense shades closer to the edges. I added powder going from the center to edges and let the background air dry.
As soon as it has dried, I die cut a square panel with side 3" (app. 7,5 cm). Then stamped down the tree silhouette in black archival ink.
To assemble the card I foam padded it and adhered to a black square with side 3 1/8" (8 cm). The bold stamped panel looks better with a simple elegant sentiment. Plume stamp set contains simple one word sentiments that match well clean style cards. For my card I selected Breathe from this set and stamped it down to a white card base in black ink, then glued the tree panel to it.
Please share with me in comments what are your favourite IndigoBlu stamps this Autumn.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a nice week!

  1. This is absolutely gorgeous Ksenija, and I simply adore the colours and the way you kept the intense yellow mainly to the centre of the piece and darkened the edges for a really dramatic look. I love the tree branch silhouette over the top too. x

    1. Thank you, dear Michele. I am amazed how wise nature is. In the darkest months of a year trees are burning in colour to help us go through this period.

    1. Thank you, dear Sandie. Just added pigment powders more intensively closer to edges. Wanted to add mega flakes, as your inspirational photo suggests sparkles. But then thought it would be too much on this rich background
