Weird Science...Beautiful Mind

Hello, Kay Molyneux here. I'm so pleased to share this canvas board using the Weird Science Series of stamps. It started out as a part completed project that's been in my craft room for ages. It was going to be a portrait meadow scene, the grasses had been applied using texture paste and paper shapes but I had a brain wave - turn it to landscape and paint it all over with white Gee-Sso-Good gesso mixed with a little black.

To add some colour, English Cottage Artist's Acrylic Paint Burning Bonfire was mixed with the new Slap-It-On Gloss giving a lovely orange glaze and the same was done with Cinderella both were painted as shown and also used to give some paint splatters.

The Periodic Table of Elements and images from A5 Light and Sound Borders and A5 Chemistry Lab sets were stamped with StazOn on to tissue paper, torn out and applied using Slap-It-On Matt.

The butterflies were made by stamping the Calculus with white Gee-Sso-Good gesso onto IndigoBlu Black Stamping Card then over stamping with the butterfly images using FlitterGlu and applying Copper Kettle Mega Flakes.

The test tubes from Chemistry Lab were stamped onto acetate and coloured from behind and mini glass bottles were filled with beads, paint and Mega Flakes and labelled from the Periodic Table of Elements stamp applied with Slap-It-On Matt.

Sentiments from the Chemistry Lab and A5 Beautiful Mind sets were stamped onto kraft card and cut out and some beakers from Chemistry Lab were stamped onto shrink plastic, these were added to the canvas. These were used to frame the little girl studying from the A6 Lost Family Mixed Media Paper Pack.

Bright fun textures with Beck BT

Hi Everyone, it's Beck Beattie here today to share with you a scrapbook page I created full of colour and fun using so many of the fun IndigoBlu textures!

The process:

• I created the page by first selecting the different textures I wanted to use.

• I then chose a different colour ink pad for each texture.  

• I layered each of the colours trying to achieve a little balance from one side to the other

• After all my stamping was complete I matted my photo with black card stock

• I then set about to finish off the page with a contrasting title and embellishments and colour splatter in colours to match the various stamped coloured textures.

An Altered Cigar Box with Indigoblu

I love cigar boxes, there are so many ways to alter them.  This small La Capitana box is 7" x 6" x 5," and is a fun box size to play with.  Lets see how I altered this beauty with IndigoBlu Slap It On, Red Rubber Stamps, Mega Flakes and Stencils.

I started with a piece of vintage sewing pattern laid out flat.  Using the Splattered Heart Dinkie stamp by Limor Webber, I stamped it once in an open area with no imagery on the pattern, this is on purpose for later in the project.

Once you have stamped the heart, using the same ink and the Indigoblu 6" x 6" Texture stencil, ink the entire pattern sheet covering the whole surface.

 Prepare the surface of the cigar box.

I got my first chance to use the IndigoBlu Slap It On medium to apply the stenciled and stamped sewing pattern directly to the box.

Doing one side at a time, cover with Slap It On (matte).  Add torn pieces of the pattern that will cover the entire surface, then pull off the excess all the way around.  As you move around the box, just push down the excess paper around the edges using the Slap It On.

SPECIAL NOTE:  Remember the Dinky Heart we stamped earlier, use that portion of the pattern on the top of the box.

Now we are going to cover a white chipboard pocket watch with Mega Flakes.  Prepare the surface with FlitterGlu, let stand for a moment then cover with Chocolate Box Mega Flakes and scour to complete the finish.

Once completed, I started to assemble the front of the box by adding a 1920s photo in the pocket watch (you could use a vintage image from the A6 Lost Family Mixed Media Paper collection), a Prima flower, some beads and chain along with burlap to give it all a vintage feel. Have fun putting it all together.

Add some stamped butterflies from the new A5 Floral Fantasy set around the box.

 I also stamped a butterfly onto the sewing pattern, cut it out and added it to the front ribbon flower.

Hi everyone and welcome! I've been having fun with the new Kibble Pups and Duke's Gang stamp sets and some fun new paint colours for this shadow box project.

The new English Cottage Artist's Acrylic Paint colours used here have the yummiest of names; Lemon Meringue, Lime Marmalade, Marshmallow and Mulberry Bush. And they coordinate beautifully with Townhouse Teal for this project. With a more translucent quality to them they are perfect for colouring in these super new designs. Here are some close ups of the finished shadow box...

Battersea Dogs Home has nothing on me with this today!!! And there's an idea - wouldn't these new stamps make the most wonderful fund raising cards for your favourite pet charity! (remember, there are cat versions too).

Butterfly card

Hello Everyone! Monika here with a mixed media card I made using the new IndigoBlu stamps. I used  A5 Floral Fantasy and A5 Word Blocks; both of them I loved from the first sight!

I absolutely adore the doily stamp in the Floral Fantasy set. I stamped mine with StazOn Gothic Purple ink. After stamping my butterflies (from the same set and from the A5 Butterfly Collector set) and colouring them I covered them using the brand new Slap it On Gloss to protect them and add some shine.

I then played with the IndigoBlu English Cottage Artist's Acrylic Paints. They are perfect for creating colourful backgrounds. I used Wimberry Pie, Banana Custard and a new yummy colour called Mulberry Bush. And I stamped first the doily, then the swirls from Tiny Backgrounds and the word Beauty from Word Blocks.

Pretty In Pink - Foral Fantasy Stamps

Hi there. Elizabeth here with a project made using the very lovely new Floral Fantasy stamps they match the Floral Fantasy Mixed Media Card Stack beautifully and have three sentiments along with butterflies, Lilacs and a fabulous half Doily.

I used the sheet of Lilacs from the Floral Fantasy Mixed Media Stack adding die cuts over the top for texture. Once they were adhered to the card, I gave the whole page a coat of watered down White GeeSsoGood.

I stamped out the half doily using White GeeSsoGood in the position where I knew would be my focal point, on the left hand side, and also added some Glass Bead Gel to give a glint of light.  Then using one part paint to five parts water I added a nice big blob of........................the very gorgeous and soon to be released Mulberry Bush paint to a spritzer bottle, it is just yummy! The texture is gel like, so you can add sheer layers of gorgeous colour over your projects, and there are several gorgeous new colours that will be available soon.

There are two different sizes of Butterflies on the stamp sheet, I stamped out three of each in Black Stazon Ink, coloured them with the watered down paint and cut them out. Then I stamped out the gorgeous Lilac flower, added colour to the leaves with a Caran d'Ache pencil and spritzed the flowers themselves, to give a graded more natural look to them.  I always tend to buy neutral colours of lace and ribbon as I know I can spritz them to match any project, as the paints are all fabric paint as well!

The beautiful young girl is from the Lost Family Collection images that are perfect for mixed media projects, as they are printed on the same quality card stock as the papers. I added a little colour to her cheeks, lips, flowers and hair band, then trimmed around her as I didn't need the full image. Then comes the best bit, building up the page, layering the ribbons, adding the Butterflies and the stamped out Lilacs, followed by adding the young lady with a few extra flowers with a hint of paint added, and of course a sentiment.

Then to finish off how could I resist adding a few splatters of watered down White GeeSsoGood and a few iridescent sequins to catch the light.

Hi, Kerry here with a small journal page for the Anything Goes Challenge.  I was so lucky to be in the top 3 for the challenge All That Glitters which I did some ATC’s while playing around with Indigo Blu’s paint.  I haven’t got many colours yet so for this journal page I did the background in different paint and the final blue with their paint and wow it is so opaque and full of pigment.  I have done a full tutorial over on my blog today to show you how I made this.  It’s been a total pleasure in being here today as a guest.
