Mega Flakes Cottage

When I first discovered how Mega Flakes works, I find myself looking all around to figure out what I can cover with it and I do not mean just a little part, more like the whole thing. So when I saw this chipboard house, I knew immediately what I wanted to do with it.

A whole lot of Mega Flakes and some IndigoBlu paint and I have my own unique chipboard house. The colors match perfectly with my home decor.

I covered the main portion of the house in the IndigoBlu Lancashire Rose and Copper Kettle Mega Flakes. I then used Eton Mess Mega Flakes to create the bottom base to look like concrete. I created the roof with IndigoBlu English Cottage Artist's Acrylic Paint "Goldfinger" and created the chimney look with burgundy ink.

 Look at the concrete effect I made with the silver flake, love this color;

A Floral Wreath

Hi everyone and welcome! Jenny here sharing a new project with you today. Having received so much positive feedback for a project I created at the end of last year for The Mixed Media Monthly Challenge, I wanted to give you another idea for using the new Colour This Anenome stamp (start pestering your retailers for it now!) along with the A6 Laurel Leaves set.

Now it may look complicated but there's actually not a great deal to doing this! I started with a blank white sheet of card (anything above 250gsm is good) and immediately misted the whole lot with water. Then when I spritzed dilute English Cottage Artist's Acrylic paints onto the surface they started to blend together nicely. In this case the colours are Townhouse Teal, Peppermint Tea, Banana Custard and Cinderella. Leave this to dry naturally and you'll end up with a beautiful multicoloured background on which to stamp.

With the colouring done I simply stamped lots of the Laurel Leaves with FlitterGlu, covering some in Sheffield Steel Mega Flakes and some with white embossing powder. These were then fussy cut, ensuring a decent border was left around the stamping.

The 'Colour This Anenome' was stamped and embossed in the same way three times in full for layering, with extra centres stamped for the smaller flowers. The large ones were die cut (I used the Sizzix Tattered Florals XLdie but you can use any of the larger floral dies you have) and the centres were punched with the Tim Holtz Spiky Flower punch (again, you can use any die/punch you want!)

To give them all an extra zing I blended the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink - a little goes a long way! Then it was just a case of layering them up onto the side of a pre-bought twine heart with some sheer ribbon for extra glamour and strong glue to hold everything in place!

A handy hint - if you feel nervous about doing the lot in one go I would suggest assembling your flowers and a few stems together in separate sections before bringing them all together.

There's enough shimmer and shine in this I think to qualify it for our current challenge 'All That Sparkles'! If you haven't entered yet there's still time - find the link at the top of this post.

Canvas Lost Letter

Hello in New Year, Monika here.

Today I want to show you my vintage, distressed canvas. I used the inside of the canvas so I could paint and stamp on frame. First I painted twice the whole area with IndigoBlu GeeSso Good! White, then I played with stamps, paints and sprays.

Look at this photograph of a soldier from new Mixed Media Papers - Lost Family. He is so nostalgic. I think these papers are perfect for retro and vintage projects. I distressed a little bit more his picture by stamping some Ink Splats on it and doing some real splashes.

I also played with a new stamps set called Tasty Textures, these are so gorgeous!

A Quick and Easy Vintage Card

Hello it's Elizabeth here with a tutorial for a quick and easy vintage card which can be in less than an hour.

I cut a  5 1/2"square from the Perfect White Stamping card then using a square die cut an aperture in the centre. I began by stamping out the tickets from the Grand Tour II set using the second and third generation, with Potting Soil Archival ink.

Building up the background with the map, postage stamps, post mark and butterflies in the same way.

Then I stamped the lady on the bicycle and the airship from the Grand Tour I with the first generation of ink, to get a darker impression, along with a couple of stamps and tickets to balance out the design.
I blended Brushed Corduroy Distress ink around the edges to give the frame some age, and keep the vintage feel.

Carefully using the frame as a guide I then stamped one of the sentiments from the Grand Tour II set using Black Archival ink directly onto the centre of a 6" square card.

I stamped around the edge of the card using the map stamp and second generation stamping with the Potting Soil ink, followed by Brushed Corduroy Distress ink around the edge.  I added the frame using foam pads along with a butterfly left over from another project, cut out from a scrap piece of Floral Fantasy Mixed Media Card Stack and painted with White Gee Sso Good.

Wherever you go TAG

Hello beautiful crafters!
eeeeek! we are in the 2016!! So first of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Did you write the list of resolutions? My resolutions for 2016 is only one: not have resolutions! Because let's be honest, I still am on the 2013' list so... LOL! I'll just try to be the best version of me and just enjoy life!

Anyway...

For my project today I made a TAG with a fun envelope to go along - I used paper from the wonderful collection Belle Epoque -- I find this paper pad out of this world! Love the colour scheme and the design, just the paper it self is an artwork!
It is perfect for collage and for all mixed media lovers out there! I truly suggest you to ask your retailer to get it, you will love the sleek texture and the versatility of it!

I started by cutting strips of one sheet of paper till I covered the whole front of the tag. I covered it with IndigoBlu GeeSso Good! White and then used my favourite English Cottage Artist's Acrylic Paint to add color to the paper.

I cut this awesome vintage bird from a paper sheet from the same collection  and glued it down.
The quote is from the IndigoBlu Grand Tour I A5 - Rubber Stamp -- I simply rearranged the words to create a brand new sentiment. This is another reason of why I love SO MUCH IndigoBlu Stamps! They allow you to really stretch them and use in so many ways!

When I was satisfied with the background I stitched all around the tag. And the Crown. Please a minute of silence of this HUGE mistake. I wanted to add straight stitched lines but...somehow I ended up making a crown! But shh, let's keep this quiet ;-) !

I englighted the sentiment by stitching some more under it.
Final touch was to add splashes of IndigoBlu GeeSso Good! White and IndigoBlu GeeSso Good! Black.

For the envelope I cut a long piece of card stock from the same Belle Epoque collection and a piece of vellum. I sewed the two pieces together THEN i cut it to size from the top (the only part not sewed)

To help the vellum blend and match the TAG all I did was mixing a bit of English Cottage Artist's Acrylic Paint Miss Moneypenny and Goldfinger together, stamped using a stamp from the IndigoBlu Grand Tour I A5 - Rubber Stamp and then flicked a bit of gesso to create interest.

Challenge 35 Reminder - All that Sparkles!

Happy New Year from the Challenge team and Demonstrators. We hope you had a relaxed holiday and are now raring to craft!

Hi fellow Indigoblu fans, here I am once again feeling super proud to be one of the chosen 3 ...... It was only back in May 2015 that I first entered an IndigoBlu challenge, and then I only had a couple of stamps, now my collection is quite extensive, but I still go back to my absolute favourite... the Flutterby.... well I do have a bit of a Lepidoptera obsession!!!  The theme for my Christmas cards this year was all about recycling, all made with mostly recycled materials, packaging, book pages, old jewellery that I no longer wear...etc, so I think I was still in the same mode when I made this wall hanging, with a piece of corrugated cardboard box, and some acetate from other packaging.....heck...it makes me never want to buy any card ever again!!!! (hang on....who am I kidding...lol).

I thoroughly enjoyed making this wall hanging, using lots of the fabulous Winter Dawn Mega Flakes, texture paste, glass beads and silver sprinkles...my oh my how it shines in real life!!!!

I am thrilled and so excited to be asked to do a Inspirational Piece for this month Challenge " All that Sparkles". 

Lots of ideas were floating around in my head but I settled on an sea theme as a thought came into my head of watching the sun sparkle on the sea when I was on holiday and mainly because of the stamp sets I have and a need to use the new "Rain Droplets" stamp I had just purchased.

I simply adore using  IndigoBlu products and I am a huge fan of all they do, and all the projects they share with us.

Challenging myself to come up with this project has really got my creative thoughts going again after Christmas. I have more details and photos on my blog to share with you of how I created this window hanger if you would like to find out more.

Welcome to the year of 2016

Hi! It's Marie here. Are you prepared for a new year filled with possibility? Have you made any new years resolutions? I haven´t - I stopped years ago - never keep them.... One thing I try to do each new year is to find a word to live by. Sort of a guideline to strive agains. This year my word will be evolve! 

So today I want to share a couple of projects that I made that represent a skill I have evolved this past year. One thing I am proud of and think I have accomplished is my cardmaking skills. From making flat and pretty boring cards I now make 3 dimensional ones with a lot of details.

For this card I have used a patterned paper from the coming soon "After Morris" Mixed Media Paper collection. On it I have stamped and embossed the "Colour This Peony" (also coming soon). 

To create extra dimension I have applied a mix of modeling paste and IndigoBlu Fine Glitter on the edges. Some black stamping with the script stamp from the "Tasty Textures" stamp set add even more interest. Flowers, chipboard and other embellishments ties it all together.

I have used the same paper for the tag below. The card and tag works perfect together as a set.

I cut out a piece of the flower from the patterned paper and applied to the plane tag. As you can see I have painted and embossed on the side where the patterned paper does not cover. For this I used IndigoBlu Acrylics and one of the new background stamps from the Lights and Sound stamp set that will be released in January.

The "ART" word is stamped and embossed with a stamp from the Sarah's Choice A5 stamp set.
