Remember, Remember the 5th November.....
Hi it's Elizabeth here sharing a colourful Bonfire Night project with you. Here in the UK we celebrate Bonfire Night on the 5th November every year, by getting together with friends and family, having a bonfire and setting off brightly coloured fireworks. All this is in celebration of a gent called Guy Fawkes who planned the failed Gunpowder Plot to blow up the Houses of Parliament back in 1605.
I started by stencilling Twisted Citrus and Salty Ocean Distress Ink through the Whimsical Houses Stencil before adding a layer of Super Thick Slap It On over the top. I wanted dimension and shine to the houses. I then cut them out to use individually.
On a piece of card cut to 5 3/4" square I used the Super Thick Slap It On through the fabulous Starburst Stencil Once that had dried I then stamped over the top with one of the flower heads from the Stylised Flower Stamp to create my exploding Firework. I added flowers around the edge of the card using Blue Hawaii StazOn Ink.
After giving the images a quick blast with the heat gun to make sure they were dry, I then blended over a mix of Twisted Citron and Salty Ocean Distress Inks. I love the way the Super Thick Slap It On acts as a resist, making the Starburst lines look like an exploding Firework.
I added a few coloured gems to the centre of my largest Firework, and arranged the three little houses, overlapping them slightly.
To finish off I added the piece on to a 6" square card blank.
I hope you enjoyed a safe and Happy Bonfire Night, see you soon.
