Chameleon Friend Fridays Blog Hop with IndigoBlu - Week Two

Welcome back to the second week of this series (if you missed out the first week was HERE). We were really excited when Chameleon Pens approached IndigoBlu to join in with their Friend Friday Blog Hop series. Each Friday during June two of our designers will be sharing projects they've made using Chameleon Color Tones 5 Pens Sets and the IndigoBlu stamps, stencils, paints, mixed media papers and flakes you are all familiar with.

Make sure you hop over to see the projects created by the Chameleon Pens Design Team HERE.

First up from IndigoBlu we have a fabulous mixed media jewellery project by Nikki Killinger;

Hi, I was thrilled to be asked to join in with the Chameleon Pens blog, and to get to play with the pens and see for myself how great they are, as I'd heard about how good they were. And they are! Really easy to use and play with, loved the primary colours as you still have complete control over how it comes out, so you can go from pastel to primary with just one pen.

I decided to very simply stamp one of the cats from Kevin's Gang, onto old dictionary paper, and use the chameleon pens in blue and green, to colour. I stamped a few, to see which I liked for this piece. Once dry, I covered my images with Slap it on Matte, to protect the colouring, so my resin didn't seep through once applied. I used Indigoblu's new Diamond Resin, mixed as instructions, and applied to the cats using an old paintbrush and lolly stick, to add a coat to the top of them, without going over the edges. This was left to dry overnight, and then repeated twice, to make the cats sturdy enough for jewellery pieces. I then punched a small hole in the cats top and bottom, to add jump rings and chain, to make a simple necklace.

I really enjoyed the chance to work with the pens, and will definitely be using more!
Chameleon Pens used: Primary Tones - yellow, green and blue.
Stamps used: Kevin's Gang.
& Indigoblu's Diamond Resin.

And now we share a gorgeous IndigoBlu project from Jenny Marples;

Having taken the time to play with these lovely Chameleon Pens I decided to showcase a couple of uses for them on this mixed media canvas. Opting to stick with blue/green tones I stamped the Dinkie Dragonfly onto watercolour cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black and blended the colours across the wings and body. Once dry I blended a little Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink across them for a more vintage look and added Glossy Accents for added shine. The die cut flowers were created with the same watercolour papers, pens and inks, this time with all over colouring that would be great on a background and stamping with the map image from the A5 Grand Tour II set. After layering up lots of stamped textiles, surfaces, texture paste and gesso, dilute puddles of IndigoBlu Acrylic paints were applied. It didn't take long to get to grips with these wonderful pens and I enjoyed seeing what they could do.

Chameleon Pens used; Cool Tones 5 Pen Set
Stamps used; Dinkie Dragonfly, Grand Tour I, Grand Tour II
IndigoBlu Paints used; Kingfisher Blue, Hunter Green, Townhouse Teal, Sleeping Beauty, Lime Marmalade, Pheasant Bronze.

I'm sure you'll agree the ladies have created some beautiful projects here by combining their Chameleon Pens and IndigoBlu products. Make sure you join us again next Friday 17th June to see what our other designers have in store and don't forget to hop over to the Chameleon Pens blog to see how they've used their IndigoBlu stamps!
