Challenge 32 - Top 3 Reminder - Autumn Days

Morning all,

It's our Top 3 winner's turn from the August challenge to bring you some inspiration for this month's theme, 'Autumn Days'.

I think you'll agree they have done us proud, and we are so pleased to have you join us this month ladies.  Here is their inspiration for you.

Firstly we have Karen:

Karen had this to say:
I used Distress Inks in the following colours to create the background - Forest Moss, Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade and Fossilized Amber, all applied with blending brushes (well shaving brushes to be exact… lol) and I used a mask to create the sun.  All stamps used are from the Nature 1 set.
Thanks for having me as one of your Top 3 x

Next up it's Ruth:

Ruth had this to say:

The challenge was to create something that makes you think of Autumn. My card definitely does not look like a typical Autumn card with leaves, oranges, reds and golds. Let me explain. I live in Perth Western Australia. Our Autumn is really just an extension of summer with (hopefully) slightly cooler but still warm temperatures. This card represents what Autumn means for me.
I used blue card and a blue distress ink background to represent the blue, clear skies we have in autumn. The gold touches represent the sun. Due to the slightly cooler conditions in Autumn, it is a good growing season so I have used the flowers and green leaves to represent this and dragonflies are always around in Autumn here. I love how they hover and flit about.

And last but by no means least it's Kathryn:

Kathryn told us:

“I was really thrilled to be placed top 3 in the Indigo Blu Challenge, Autumn makes me think of sunflowers – so that was an ideal starting point. Plus for some random reason I thought the challenge was Autumn Leaves and not Autumn Days! Duh!!
Many years ago I taught a mixed media canvas project where I embroidered the centre of daisies with french knots, and that was an ideal thing to do with the Indigo Blu Sunflower Stamp – and it really gives the flowers lots of depth.  All those leaves kicking around made me want to dry them off and use them as well – so I hope you pop over to my blog and see how the Autumn Days Wreath was achieved and perhaps even make one yourself!”

Stunning inspiration here from our fab Top 3 winners of the August challenge, please pop over to their blogs to see how they made their inspiration pieces, and leave them some love.  I hope they've inspired you to enter the challenge yourself, there is still time - 6 days to go!

Thank you to our lovely ladies, and good luck all.

Best wishes,
