The Challenge Design Team

Nikki Killinger - Challenge Blog Co-ordinator

Hi, my name is Nikki, otherwise known as Nikki K.  I'm an all round crafter and jewellery designer, and have worked with Kay for around five years now, on the Design team, as a demonstrator, and now as the Challenge Blog Co-ordinator. I also do publication work and TV samples where needed.
I'm married to Alan, (been together 18 years), married 2, and we have a daft dog called Luna (tic) and a cat called Magic.

I'm originally from the Dorset Coast, and have made jewellery and cards since I was 15, using real fossils my mum used to find on the beach.  I think this has led to my love of found objects, which I try to incorporate into my pieces where I can.  I love anything rusty, broken, and very very old!

Rubber stamping is a huge love, and I love nothing more than being up to my elbow's in ink, and paint, and that's usually literally.  My favourite saying is 'My style is no style', which usually means, anything goes!  From grunge to glam, I'm happy if I'm crafting.

I joined the Indigoblu team officially in July 2013, and had met Kay a couple of years earlier at a show, when she spotted my Ice Resin spoon pendant, and I fell in love with her demo of megaflakes and flitterglu!  I was impressed with the quality of the stamps and the work ethic of the company, and am thrilled to be a part of such a fantastic team of talented people.

Julie Cassidy

Hi my name is Julie Cassidy I am married and live in Yorkshire with my hubby and a mad dog called Ruby.
I have always been interested in crafting since being a child... now it is my therapy, I find it very relaxing, I am lucky enough to have a craft room where I can play all day.
I met Kay and her team at shows but recently I attended a retreat and enjoyed it sooooo much, I sent Kay some cards to look at and guess what she liked them and consequently invited me to be a guest designer on the blog and a new addition to the challenge blog!!!!!! Wowzers yes yes yes was my reply and we'll here goes.

Geraldine Butterworth

Hi my name is Geraldine Butterworth also known as Gez in the crafting world (with a J sound!) I am a self taught mixed media artist and designer, with a passion for colour and texture. I like to push boundaries and get the most from the products and materials I use on my creations. I love to create everything from whimsy art journal pages, and assemblege, to art postcards, scrapbook pages, atc's and greetings cards. I'm also a keen photographer and love to record family events in my scrapbooks and have just completed a photo a day challenge in 2014, not missing a single day! Quite a challenge.

I've live in the north west Pennine hills in East Lancashire in a small village with my husband, three children and furr ball. This year is exciting as we celebrate our silver wedding anniversary and our eldest turns 21! When I'm not at my desk creating. I can be found with a crochet hook in hand my other big passion. I love creating afghans and amigurumi characters for family and friends. At the weekends I like to get out with my family when the weather is good and into the beautiful countryside where we live and Geocache.

I am looking forward to the challenges ahead with the IndigoBlu design team and I am thrilled to have some of my samples go off to CHA2015.

To see more of my creations you can find me here over at Three Little Birds
Maxine Jones

My name is Maxine Jones, and am the owner of my own little company called Maxine Jones Design. I'm a mother of one beautiful daughter (soon to turn 10) and live in a rural village in Cambridgeshire on the edge of the fens with my partner, Steve, our 2 cats and 2 chickens. My background is as a Graphic Designer, which ranged from simple flyers, to magazines and company reports, to logos and also websites. I also make jewellery, which I sell at craft fairs. I have always been very interested in crafts and my passion was always drawing. I came across the wonderful world of stamping via a craft magazine, and got myself a few stamps to get myself started. I was hooked and wanted to learn more, so I worked in a craft department of a local garden centre for 2 years, which enabled me to learn about products, go on courses, and meet wonderful crafty folk! Since leaving there, I was very fortunate enough to join the IndigoBlu family as a demonstrator! My passion is still to draw and make, so I feel honoured and totally delighted to be on Blog Challenge Inspiration Design Team.
Giovanna Zara

Hi, I’m a crafter and designer from Sardinia, Italy. I started as a scrapbooker 8 years ago, and then I fell in love with MixedMedia: painting, mixing colours, materials and styles. I love to make Altered Art, Stamping, Art Journaling and I like to use alternative/recycled materials in my projects. When I was given a sewing machine, fabric and sewing become a new world to discover.

At the end of 2013 I took the plunge and quit my job as computer programmer to become a professional crafter. In 2014 I had the chance to design a line of stencils and rubber stamps for two English brand and teach some workshops in London. On 2015 I shooted my first on line course about ArtJournaling in Italian, because there are few people in Italy that make craft and I would like they were thousands, so spread the Art-bug is my goal.

Now I live in Melbourne, Australia, where I am attending a course on Visual Art at the NMIT.

Creating cards with all kind of material, dies etc. is always a challenge for me. I'm member in different design teams and I'm very happy to join the Indigo Blu Challenge DT.

Claire Newcombe

Hiya everyone, so excited to be here, thank you.
I am Claire, I'm married to Anthony, and a mum of two boys, Tom (age 13, and obsessed with painting and playing Warhammer figures) and Stephen (age 7, who is a right little giggler). They keep me busy, running around between schools and clubs etc, especially as Anthony works away a lot of the time.
We are English but currently living in Ireland, having moved for my husbands job.
Previously I worked as a scientist, but now as Anthony works away so much, I am a stay at home mum, and spend my days (between school hours anyway) in my craft room smile emoticon.
I began my crafting journey cross stitching as a young girl, and have since been gathering various skills, all which I still use today. However about 15 years ago I discovered the world of stamping and havn't looked back, and I'm proud to say now that some of my work is regularly published in magazines. I love the freedom to create with inks and colours and different images. Stamps allow the frustrated artist in me to create.

I enjoy all aspects of craft but stamping is my first love, as you really can't beat getting inky. I adore mixed media and am really running out of space at home.... Opsey....

Bring on those Flakes, Paints, stamps and papers and let's get creating together.

Sue Ralph
Hello Everyone.

My name is Sue and I live in the tranquil Gloucestershire countryside with my husband Martin and two of my three (quite) grown-up children.

I have always been ‘arty’, starting when I managed a shop specialising in silk flower arrangements then afterwards years of working with children of all ages especially when planning and running craft workshops with them, all of which really brought out my creative side.

Five years ago I took the first step into demonstrating craft goods and that led me on to start my own business “Birdcage Craft Studio”. I enjoy creating bespoke cards and home decor and love to pass on what I have learnt by running craft workshops and 1-2-1 tuition's at my studio and making video tutorials.

Paper crafts is how it all began and I have now moved onto altered art and have recently developed a passion for multimedia. My house is filled with my many creations and craft materials, something that probably drives my family mad!

Since buying my first IndigoBlu stamp I haven’t looked back as I love using their quality products.
I’m over the moon to have been asked to be part of the IndigoBlu family and I can’t wait to share all of my ideas with you and of course the chance to get to play with stamps, getting my hands dirty with Ink, Mega Flakes and Paints (some of my firm favourites).
